5 Minutes with Dana Standring

How long have you been a podiatrist? Have there been any major changes to podiatry during the time you’ve been doing it?

I have been a Podiatrist now for 8 years. The biggest change in that time is the shift in people’s attitudes to Podiatry. More and more people are beginning to understand that a Podiatrist can help them with pain or discomfort, but also to prevent them from getting to that point where they are experiencing pain and that we don’t just cut toenails!

What is the best part of the job?

The best part of the job for me is the patients. I love getting to know each and every one and building that relationship with them where I am able to help keep them on their feet. I think the Footrix patients are some of the best people I know.

What sort of services do you offer at Footrix? Anything people might not realise you can help with?

People are often really surprised when I tell them that a Podiatrist can treat them virtually from the hip down. At Footrix, yes, we provide general foot treatments but we also  have lots of patients who we have helped with niggling sports injuries like sore or weak ankles and lower legs; and we’ve also helped people who have had issues with painful knees and even sore hips.

Do you offer certain products for sale?

At Footrix, we love to help our patients select the right product for them – one which will make their life better. We stock a great range of foot cream by Restorate, bamboo and cotton socks, Frankie4 and Dr Comfort shoes, Vionic thongs, and slippers. We get so many of our clients telling us how our cream or shoes have changed their lives. Because at Footrix Podiatry we will keep people on their feet!
