Rodeo back in town

Dust off your boots, put on your jeans, the Rodeo is coming to town again.

Saturday October 13 from 4pm is the time to head along to Orange Showground for some serious rodeo action.

The event is the Orange East to West Coast Championships and it was relocated to Orange 7 years ago. The Championship always draws in quite the crowd with this year featuring an open bull ride, open bronc ride, 2nd division bull ride, ladies barrel race, bare back riding and the junior event.

Allen Wilson, Committee Member, says, “Some of the other attractions to see at the rodeo besides the Cowboys and Cowgirls riding Broncs and Bulls include local country music artist Chloe Swannell, Australia's funniest rodeo clown Big Al, Motocross Champions Vs Barrel Racing horses in a race against the clock, a jumping castle, face painting for the kids, lots of food stalls and market stalls”.

The rodeo has a good reputation and is suitable for the whole family with thousands of families showing up year after year. As well as attracting some big crowd numbers the event also attracts some pretty talented people.

“The rodeo draws the cream of Australian talent to battle it out in an effort to win the prestigious title of being crowned the Australian East to West Coast Champion of the year and to where the gold and silver buckle that is awarded to each champion in each event.

“The Championship Rodeo is a National rodeo Council Sanctioned event and sees competitors and members of the Rodeo Servicers Association entering from many states around Australia, this year we have already seen competitors coming from West Australia, Victoria and Queensland as well as NSW,” said Allen.

The gates to the event will open at 4pm with country music also kicking off then. The rodeo action will begin at 6pm and you will want to get a great spot to ensure you see all of the action.
