Closed!

The Orange branch of the ANZ bank is now closed for renovations, leaving customers to make other arrangements for the next seven weeks.

ANZ is spending more than $1.3 million on the Orange branch upgrades, which will include ‘a fresh design, open plan layout, roaming tellers and assisted digital banking.’

The branch, which closed on Friday 6 July, is set to re-open on 29 August.

Until then customers will have to travel to branches at Bathurst, Cowra, or use the Bank@Post facilities at the Summer Street post office.

But Cash payments through Bank@Post are limited to $5,000 and withdrawals capped at $1000 per day, per card.

ANZ also has an ATM at Woolworths Petrol Station in Summer Street.

The bank has apologised to customers for any disruption to their banking services while the renovations take place.

Does this seem an extra-ordinary decision or what? My wife and I are ANZ customers who rarely access the office but can’t help think, there must be others totally inconvenienced by this. Travel to Bathurst, Cowra….really?
