Make a difference

As restrictions begin to ease, the Salvation Army Store in Orange are looking at the possibility of opening soon.

While they wait for the go-ahead, the team are putting a call out for volunteers, as many of their previous volunteers will remain in isolation due to their health. The store is looking for people who are under the age of 70 years old, who are fit and healthy and can spare a day or a couple of days a week.

Store Manager, Col Barnes said “We are looking for people with an interest in books, jewellery, and or bric-a-brac, as well as those with experience in customer service. It’s a fun atmosphere here, there’s always encouragement and laughter amongst our volunteers.”

Once open, the Salvation Army story will have all of the Covid-19 precautions in place including one-way aisles and floor markings.

In saying that, the store remains closed for donations, keep an eye out for the donation sign as they hope to put it out soon, until then please do not leave your donations on the street at the shop.
