School’s back!

Its official- school’s back and believe it or not, the kiddies are overwhelmingly happy about it! We caught up with students from St Mary’s Catholic Primary School as they get back into the swing of their school routine, thankful that they don’t have to stay home anymore.

St Mary’s Principal, Kerry Maher mentioned the school grounds became a very lonely place without the students.

“It’s been such a strange time, said Kerry. “We’ve been really lucky; the parents have been amazing with understanding the social distancing and helping us to function. Just getting back to normal and having a routine again has been such a big part of healing too.

“The children were so excited to come back, they couldn’t wait to be with their friends. From what we gathered they really missed the face to face interaction, and that contact is so important with the children in terms of understanding where they are with their learning and where they are socially so we can help guide all of that.”

“I know there are quiet times during school time but that joyous happy sound around the school is what is really special.”
