What are the chances?

Here's something you won't read about too often.

What do you think the chances are of the same person winning the same prize in two completely different competitions run almost 12 months apart? As incredible as it sounds, that's exactly what happened at OC Life this week.

Over the last month or so we ran a competition where competitors had to cut out a coupon from Orange City Life fill it in and then send it in to go in a lucky draw for the prize, the prize being an $1100 accommodation package staying the Citadines Connect Sydney Airport . We offered a similar prize in a completely different competition last year.

Last year, the draw was made by a local retailer in their store, this year, one of my staff drew the prize in our office. Following the draw, my Director of First Impressions rang the winner to tell them they'd won. At that stage we had no idea it was the same person. We found out when we advised the Citadines of the winner, so they could arrange to deliver the prize. They noticed the name was the same and queried it.

You can imagine the chain of events after that but once we established it was the same winner, I thought to myself, there's a story in that for sure, hence this little piece this week.

So, who was this incredibly lucky two-time winner?

Her name is Ann Murray and she's from Manildra. I recall speaking to Ann when she won last year, and she was greatly excited about winning. Her husband also rang me back up after they'd had their time at the Citadines just to say it was a marvelous experience, and the people there were brilliant. It's always nice when you hear feedback like, especially about such prizes.

So, the Murrays are off to Sydney again thanks to us and the folk at the Citadines, we sincerely wish them an equally marvelous experience this time round as well.

The rest of us will have to wait for another opportunity.

Still on the Citadines, they would love us to tell our readers more about their facility and to help with this, have offered to host one of my writers for a first-hand experience. We'll try and arrange that sometime soon and tell you what we discover. Sounds like a fabulous place to stay in Sydney.
