It was a bitterly cold winter's night, but there was plenty of warm community spirit (and fire barrels too, thank goodness!) on the village streets on Friday, August 7, for 2026 Millthorpe Fire Fair! A large crowd turned out for the occasion, with the fire buckets most certainly the main attraction as the night wore on. This year saw the Lachlan Valley Railway partner with the village committee for the very first time, although it is unlikely to be the last as their return trip train to Millthorpe from Orange proved quite popular, with all tickets selling out ahead of the Friday night market event.
