Celebrating an album that redefined heavy metal music, thrash tribute band, “…And Metallica for All” is bringing their high-energy show to Orange Ex-Services Club on Saturday, August 29.
The show will feature tracks from iconic American headbanger’s Metallica’s 1986 multi-million selling album “Master of Puppets” which included such classics as “Battery” and “Orion”, as well as the title track, often considered one of the great rock songs of all time.
Metallica is an iconic American heavy metal band formed in Los Angeles in 1981 by vocalist/guitarist James Hetfield and drummer Lars Ulrich.
Renowned as one of the founding “big four” of thrash metal – alongside “Megadeth”, “Anthrax”, and “Slayer” – the group revolutionised the genre with their driving guitar style, aggressive musicianship, haunting lyrics, and fast tempo.
Over a career spanning more than four decades, they have sold more than 150 million albums globally and won 10 Grammy Awards, securing their place in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2009.
With a name referencing Metallica’s fourth studio album (“…and Justice for All”), “...And Metallica For All” – also known as “Metallica: A Tribute for All” – is Australia’s premiere Metallica tribute band featuring metal guitar virtuoso, Dave Webb.
They are currently touring Australia with their 40 Years of Puppets Tour, playing the album live from front to back; followed by other greatest hits including “Enter Sandman”, “One”, and “Nothing Else Matters”.
Not considered a classic at the time, Master of Puppets only peaked at number 29 on the Billboard 200, though it received widespread acclaim from critics who praised its music and political lyrics.
It is now widely regarded to be one of the greatest and most influential metal albums of all time and is credited with consolidating the American thrash metal scene, ultimately selling nearly 15 million copies worldwide.
In 2015, Master of Puppets became the first metal recording to be selected by the US Library of Congress for preservation in the National Recording Registry for being: “culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant”.
So why not join the gang for an electrifying night of headbanging and pure rock energy as ...And Metallica For All pay tribute to the legendary sounds of one of the best guitar bands that ever existed.
Get ready to sing at the top of your lungs, throw those horns in the air, and rock out to the anthems that defined generations with blistering solos, crushing riffs, and all the heavy metal energy you can handle.
