Aug 7: Fire train to kick-off winter fest fun
A timely trainload of tourists is making their way to one of our most picturesque villages in the region on Friday, August 7, to take part in the Millthorpe Fire Fair; first official event of the 2026 Orange Region Fire Festival.
Growing bigger each year, the fair will also feature fine food and wine, as well as thrilling fire-throwers, drummers, and entertainment from no less than four live great acts, with an after-fair party also on at Club Millthorpe!
Aug 7: Live shows in the Piano Bar at The Greenhouse
The Greenhouse of Orange Ex-Services Club features live music every weekend in the Piano Bar. Drop-in on Friday, August 7 from 6pm to welcome popular performer Shane Kerr back. Head in again on Saturday, August 8 as Sam Coon also joins in at the Cocktail Bar from 6pm.
Aug 9: Andy O’s acoustic classics at Badlands
With almost all of their featured live events near-guaranteed sell-outs, fans of live music at Badlands Brewery’s taproom in Summer Street, can also see a free live show every Sunday arvo from 3pm with a happy hour from 2–4pm also.
The show this week features, Andy O (Andy O'Donnell) a singer-songwriter, acoustic guitarist, and percussionist who focuses on an easy listening classic folk-rock and harmony style.
Aug 9: Nuns on the run at Can Assist fundraiser
Can Assist – who seek to ensure that rural and regional cancer patients receive direct financial aid, practical local support and equitable access to medical care – are hosting a whimsical tale featuring three classic ladies of film and screen as a fundraiser on Sunday, August 9.
“Holy Days” is a comedy-drama road trip film featuring an ensemble cast including Judy Davis, Jacki Weaver, and Miriam Margolyes, as the unlikely blessed trio seeking to save their old convent from the claws of a greedy developer. On at the Odeon, tickets from Collins Booksellers.
Aug 12: Lonnie the last old legend still performing
Lonnie Lee, often referred to as “The Father of Australian Rockabilly”, is just about the only original superstar of his era still touring and performing. His shows are high-energy and a nostalgic celebration of early rock 'n' roll.
As a pioneer of Australian music, he performs his own 1950s and 1960s hits alongside rockabilly classics! This is going to be a great show on at Orange City Bowling Club from 10am on Wednesday, August 12.

A Canobolas Dance Hall & Macquariedale Wines Immersive Murder Mystery Experience is part of the 2026 Orange Fire Festival on Saturday, August 15.
The event sees the historic venue transform into the scene of a crime for one unforgettable night of mystery, intrigue, and entertainment as a murder has taken place and it’s up to you and your team of detectives to uncover the truth.
Will your team uncover the killer… or will the truth remain hidden?
