Here we are with our first magazine of spring for 2026, which is also (so we've been reminded by a reader) our 19th anniversary edition. The past two decades have seen an incredible amount of change in the media industry and in the way news is created and consumed. To be an independent community print publication that has weathered all these changes and is not only surviving but thriving is remarkable in this day and age. And it is entirely due to all you readers out there who take our publication home and read it each week, so thank you from our little team. We hope to see OC Life continue to thrive in some form or another for years to come.

This week you may notice a new byline as you're thumbing through the pages, as for the past two weeks we welcomed Charles Sturt University media student Brock Anderson into our office. Brock was keen to learn more about what we do here each week and we hope the experience was worthwhile. Thanks, Brock!

Did you find Pinny last week? It seems our designer managed to stump many of you out there as the competition entries were noticeably down on what we normally receive each week. Just a reminder that Pinny can be found on any page of our magazine (even this one!), so be thorough.

We have also had to shuffle a few things around for this particular issue, so for those of you who I know, turn to the back pages to read the 'Thumbs' first; this week you will find them on page 18.

Don’t forget it's Legacy Week and our local branch is calling on the Orange community to step up and give what they can to help support veterans’ families. There will be high school students and other volunteers out selling badges and other fundraising merchandise, so keep an eye out or visit legacy.com.au to see how you can help.
