Orange's new residential development ‘Redleaf’ will launch its first land release to the market this month, following the official opening of the new sales office over the weekend.
Representatives from Orange City Council and Landcom, who have partnered to deliver the development, gathered to mark the occasion, which they hailed as a significant milestone. It follows the completion of the planning phase and approval of the masterplan in April 2026.
Located on the eastern outskirts of Orange, Redleaf is described as a connected, walkable neighbourhood with extensive green spaces and recreational areas in a natural wetland setting.
The development has been certified as a 6-Star Green Star Community, and will incorporate "market-leading sustainability, with climate-responsive design, enhanced biodiversity and quality open spaces that support health and wellbeing."
According to the masterplan, there are opportunities for about 300 new homes on the 24-hectare site.
The first release at Redleaf will offer land from 300 to 526 square metres, priced from $235,000.
Orange Mayor, Cr Tony Mileto, welcomed this latest milestone.
“It’s great news we’re making real progress for a new suburb that will set the standard for the way housing is delivered in Orange and Central West NSW, Cr Mileto said.
“We have heard a lot from the Orange community about delivering new and different housing options with a focus on affordability. This project will cater to various household sizes and incomes, with at least 20 per cent of homes to be set aside as affordable housing for low-to-moderate-income workers.
Landcom CEO Alex Wendler said this is about making homes happen for the NSW Central West.
"We are shifting gears from planning to sales, with construction of this diverse, affordable and well-located community in Orange set to commence in the coming months," Mr Wendler said.
"We are looking forward to welcoming the first purchasers through the doors and meeting the people who will call Redleaf home.”
The new Redleaf Sales Centre, located at 3 Redmond Place, will be open Saturday, Sunday, and Wednesday from this Saturday, August 22.
Those interested in buying land are invited to register for the sales preview weekend on Saturday 22 August and Sunday 23 August. This grants an early look at plans, pricing and the location before land goes on sale at the end of the month.
For more information on Redleaf or to register for the preview weekend, people are urged to contact the project sales agent, One Agency Orange, on (02) 9391 2984 or redleaf@landcom.nsw.gov.au.
Details about affordable rental housing at Redleaf will be shared as the project progresses.
