Orange Kart Club is preparing for the first of two big events in the next month as 120 karters are expected to roll in this weekend (Sept 5/6) for Dunlop Kart Stars Round 6.

The track is famous for its signature hairpin turn – the locals say it's easy, the visitors say it's technical, the winners say it’s the best turn on the circuit.

Local legend and former Formula Ford driver Nick Agland will also make an appearance at the event.

The Dunlop Kart Stars Championship has quickly become one of the standout series on the NSW karting calendar, attracting strong fields and talented drivers across a range of classes. So far this season the Championship has taken competitors north to the Manning Valley, south to the Sapphire Coast, and west to Grenfell.

"This is a key round of the series, with Orange hosting the NSW State Titles on the October Long Weekend," said Russell Becker, Karting NSW General Manager. "Our competitors will be using this as a test round for the big event, so we know the racing will be fierce."

With only two rounds remaining, and more than $20,000 in cash up for grabs at the end of the Championship, drivers and teams alike are honing in on some big results.

Qualifying will commence at 11am on Saturday, with racing continuing across the weekend as competitors chase valuable championship points.

Spectator entry to Orange Kart track is free, with locals and visitors encouraged to visit for a first-hand look at high-quality racing.
