The regular netball season is reaching a thrilling finale, with a final round that promises everything from heavyweight rivalry clashes to a nail-biting, winner-takes-all playoff for the final spot in the semi-finals

While the top three positions on the Division 1 ladder are secure, the final round remains full of intrigue.

Undefeated 2025 Premiers Vipers cannot be ousted from the minor premiership, but their final round kicks off the afternoon at 12:25 pm in a repeat of Round 1 against arch-rivals Orange City. On last meeting, an undermanned City side was well-beaten 47–36 but expect a traditionally even and fiercely contested rematch that could well preview the Grand Final. Meanwhile, LIFE Studio sits comfortably in third. While they cannot challenge for the major semi-final, they look dangerous enough to cause a major upset once the finals kick off.

However, the most absorbing match of the day will undoubtedly be the play-off for fourth position and a crucial semi-final berth between OHS Hornets and Hawks Royal Hotel at 1.45pm.

Hornets currently sit in fourth with a slender two-point advantage over Hawks. If the ever-improving Hawks can snatch a win, both teams will finish locked on 24 points, sending the battle down to goal averages—where Hawks currently hold a razor-thin edge of 48.10 to 48.03. For Hawks, it is a must-win, a draw automatically handing the semis spot to OHS.

Both line-ups boast an abundance of young talent, with U15 and U17 Orange rep players going head-to-head. Despite the camaraderie worn in rep colours, expect no love lost on court. Depending on tactical positional calls, fans can look forward to a tantalising centre-court battle. Hornets also feature a mobile defensive unit in Meakah Chippendale, Abby Roberts, and Tessa Hill, which will seriously test the composure and accuracy of Hawks’ reliable shooting circle, Charlotte Spruce and Ryley Simmons.

With OHS taking a clear 45–32 win when they last met, the big question is whether Hawks have improved enough to bridge the gap and push Hornets to the absolute limit.
