I attended the Orange City Council meeting at Bowen Public School Hall on Tuesday 18th February, and the Future City Strategy presentation beforehand.
In my columns – How to get the Best Out of Our Councils – I have lamented the fact that it seems that our three local councils do not seem to undertake Community or Customer Satisfaction Surveys, so I thought I would give some examples of the useful information that can be gained.

We saw how important local councils were to local communities when forced amalgamations were proposed.
A Council’s Resourcing Strategy is an important element of its Integrated Planning and Reporting framework as a long-term strategy to achieve the objectives established by the Community Strategic Plan for which Council is responsible.
