Lovin Local

One year on...

One year ago, Anything Grows saw Matt and Clare take over this popular local garden themed eating place. Today, as has been the case so often in the past, the place enjoys a loyal and happy clientele. Matt and Clare are very welcoming people and obviously very good at what they do, they have the place flying.

Anything Grows offers a delightful garden setting, beautifully presented and practical food options, great value for money and delicious food. Their scones cream and jam alone, are just one choice worth mentioning, they’re to die for.

If you haven’t experienced Anything Grows since Matt and Clare took over, do so soon because you’re missing a great experience.

Shop re-opens

Most people are aware of the wonderful ham, pork and bacon products produced by Trunkey Bacon and Pork, they’re a favourite at local farmers markets and Ashcroft’s IGA Supermarkets among other places.

There’s now another place where you can pick up Trunkey products, they’ve re-opened their shop in Endsleigh Ave next to Bobeldyks Furniture One. It’s been closed for a while but it’s now open again between 9 and 4 each weekday and all your favourite Trunkey products can be picked up there, plus a few new ones.

They now offer a range of heat and serve pies which make a delicious and easy meal option. It’s just a case of heating them and serving them, either on their own or with some salad or another side of your choice. Varieties include Pulled Pork and Beef and Chorizo Pies so put them on your must try list.

Trunkey is also gearing up for Christmas so talk them about your ham and pork needs for Christmas.

Find Santa – WIN a ham for Christmas

It’s always been our tradition to do something special for our readers in the lead up to Christmas and this year it’s no different. We are however, doing something we haven’t done before.

You can read the details in OC Life next week but in the meantime, let me say this. We’re giving readers the chance to win a ham for Christmas, 20 of them in fact, but you’re going to have to work a little to win one.

To win a ham, we’re inviting you to Find Santa in shop windows along Summer Street during November. That’s all I will say for now but lock this image of Santa in your mind so you’re ready for the challenge.
