Blayney’s Hay Bay Challenge to bring out the artists among us

Expressions of Interest are now open for the 2019 Hay Bale Challenge!

This is a wonderful initiative, one that not only the artists will enjoy but also the viewing public can enjoy, but first things first:

Calling all residents, farmers, businesses, school and community groups, join the fun, are interested in participating in the 2019 Blayney & Villages Hay Bale Art Challenge?

Now in its fourth year, this local community event is attracting thousands of visitors to Blayney and Villages to view the amazing Hay Bale Art Sculptures that pop up in paddocks and welcome B2B cyclists, visitors and locals. This year’s sculptures will be up for two weeks from 10 -24 March 2019.

Take a picturesque country drive and follow the hay bale challenge map on the route from Blayney to Bathurst through Barry, Hobbys Yards, Trunkey Creek, Newbridge and where ever else that hale bales pop up!!

Prize money is available for first, second and third place with an added bonus of the People’s Choice Award. If you would like to decorate a hay bale or make a hay bale sculpture, please fill out an entry form (available online www.blayney.nsw.gov.au) and email to events@blayney.nsw.gov.au or deliver to Blayney Shire Council, 91 Adelaide street, Blayney.

The Hay Bale Artwork will be judged on Wednesday, March 13. We look forward to seeing what creative bales our communities come up with this year!
