153 projects, 109 community groups and still counting

Continuing their long-held tradition of giving back to our local community, Orange Credit Union

last week presented their annual Community Support Grants to deserving local causes.

Since the Community Support Grants program began in 2007 the Orange Credit Union has supported 153 projects from 109 different community groups.

This year’s grant recipients were the Anson Street School—purchase robotics kit; Blayney Public School—home readers for infants’ classes; Clergate Public School—purchase iPads for STEM; Emus Roadrunners Orange—sponsor road event to raise funds for Western Care Lodge; James Sheahan High School— sponsor basketball/touch football uniforms; LikeMind Orange—purchase marquee and banners; Manildra Swimming Club—purchase pace clock and swim ropes; Orange & District Early Education Program— purchase diagnostic testing kits; Orange City Council — purchase outdoor screen, speakers and projector for movie nights in Glenroi and Bowen; Orange City Croquet Club— purchase one set of croquet hoops; Orange CYMS Cricket Club—purchase 75th anniversary clothing for the club; Orange CYMS Junior RLFC—purchase marquee; and RSPCA Orange—replace flooring in cattery.

The Orange Credit Union’s annual Community Support Grants are open to local not-for-profit community groups for projects that fill a recognised need and benefit the community at large.
