Mike Brings SMP to Orange

Do you suffer from baldness or hair thinning? You’ll want to grab a cuppa and put your feet up. This story is for you.
Let’s jump straight in... hairline tattoos are a thing; they’ve been a thing in Australia for 10 years and its only becoming more and more popular.

Scalp Micropigmentation (SMP) also known as Hair Tattoo is a cosmetic procedure, it’s a process of tattooing thousands of fine dots onto the scalp that gives the impression of a closely shaved hairstyle, ideal for any type of hair loss.

Mike Gunner, a familiar face to many who are within the Married at First Sight fan base (don’t pretend you aren’t), had the treatment done just before he appeared on the show and described it as ‘a life changer.’

“It was only when Mick and Mark who were both on the show mentioned, ‘Mike why don’t you grow your hair? You seem to have a nice full head of hair, but you always shave it,’ I had to reveal the truth to them, and Mick, he just refused to believe me,” Mike laughed.

After a positive experience regarding the treatments Mike decided to learn the art himself and has been at it for two years now. The exciting news for Orange locals is that he is looking to bring his craft here, to Soul Hair and Beauty to be exact.

“I love watching people’s reactions when they see themselves in the mirror with a hairline for the first time. You get these guys who have been bald for 20 odd years, which was certainly my case, and they walk out with a hairline that we have created for them that looks really cool. Sometimes it can be quite emotional for people. It's so satisfying to see them walk out of the studio feeling more confident than they have in years.

“If your baldness concerns you, do something about it. It’s a lot simpler, easier and guaranteed to work than say, hair transplants. Then again, if you don’t care, then all power to you.”
