The Agrestic Grocer

Fresh, Local and Ethically Sourced
Buttermilk Pancakes with rhubarb and strawberry compote, maple syrup and salted caramel ice cream.

If this Agrestic Grocer dish doesn’t scream delicious, we don’t know what does.

Also pictured is customer favourite, prawn chermoula with Agrestic house made pasta, cherry tomato and Middle Eastern Chermoula.

Housed in an old apple packing shed, with the café taking up the original cool room space and wearing its locavore ideology proudly on its sleeve, the Agrestic Grocer provides a unique shopping and dining experience for locals and visitors alike.

The Agrestic team pride themselves on their daily house made bread, their range of Agrestic made pickles and their support to a range of local suppliers.

As the Chefs handpick the best local produce to create a diverse and inspirational menu for their guests and growers regularly contributing to the shelves you’re truly spoilt for choice.

Pop in for a quick bite to eat or set aside an afternoon to take a look around.

Once you’ve fuelled up in the Café/Restaurant, it's time to hit the store. The retail sector hosts local beer and wines, a range of local condiments, from pickles to crackers, from cheese to meats. The seasonal produce room also offers locals the chance to get a small grocery shop done.

Agrestic is also home to Ruby Tuesday classic album nights, as well as their supporter of live music on weekends. The Agrestic stage has also been graced by such talent as Jeff Lang, Steve Balbi and Rick Price to name a few.

Open seven days a week Monday- Friday 8:30-4pm and Saturday through Sunday 8:30-3pm, The Agrestic Grocer is located at 426 Molong Road (Mitchell Highway), Orange.

During this time bookings are recommended. Please get in contact with the team on 6360 4604 or through their website www.agresticgrocer.com.au

“We were growing and selling produce at Farmers Markets in Sydney and thought it would be a cool idea to have somewhere in Orange that was more specific to supporting local producers.

The idea was to utilize the café space to compliment the food with the products being grown and produced around the region.

Agrestic has developed and grown from there over our seven-year period of trading in Orange. It’s been an organic process of trial and error more than anything.

I love that we’ve been able to re-create a space that was previously used as an apple storage shed, and reuse and repurpose it into a fully functional and fully viable café, shop and live music space.

We’re not just a café, we’re not just a retail outlet- we are a mixture of both.”
