Nashdale Lanes Wines Cellar Door named region’s best

Nashdale Lane Wines have been name ‘Cellar Door of the Year’ for 2020, in the only category from the 2020 Orange Wine Show to proceed with judging due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Initiated in 2017 by the Orange Regional Vignerons Association (ORVA), the Cellar Door of the Year award is sponsored by is sponsored by Orange360 and sees cellar doors assessed by a mystery shopper on a range of areas including customer service, sales, presentation of grounds and facilities as well as regional knowledge and communication, and digital and social media presence.

The Cellar Door of The Year title is awarded to the business who scores the highest across these categories.

“To take out the title of the Orange region’s Best Cellar Door in any year is a real honour, but given the many challenges of 2020 it is particularly special,” said Tanya Ryan-Segger, who owns Nashdale Lane Wines along with husband Nick Segger.

“We benchmark ourselves against national and international cellar door experiences and the highest standards of customer service — so this award means a lot.”

Nashdale Lane Wines have also been named as a 2021 ‘five-star’ winery in the James Halliday Wine Companion, with more than five Nashdale Lane Wines rated at 92 points or above by the renowned James Halliday judging panel.

And they’ve been listed in Australian Traveller’s top 50 destinations to visit in Australia.

“As a business there have been many trials to overcome during 2020,” said Nick Segger. “We however count ourselves lucky to be located in the thriving regional community of Orange… There are a lot of people that have recently discovered how much Orange has to offer in terms of exceptional wine, great cellar doors and of course beautiful countryside. It really is an exciting time to be a wine producer in the region and for our cellar door to be known as Orange’s best.”
