Turning the clocks back to Sunday the 16th of May 2021, during a windy, sunny afternoon at Spring Hill Recreational Ground, where several hundred people gathered to raise money for Triple M’s Give Me 5 for Kids.
The fundraiser event took place around an Old Boys rugby game that rallied the community together, where the local teams of the Spring Hill Wood Ducks, Orange Emulators, and the Bathurst Bull Dogs Old Boys faced off in an event full of fun entertainment and old-fashioned footy spectacle.
Where a few laughs were had, to a couple of glasses of port down the hatch and pairs of dodgy knees along with several pulled hamstrings later, a total of $8079.87 was raised for purchasing vital medical equipment for the Children’s Ward at the Orange Health Service.
Neil Gill, Triple M Breakfast Announcer said, “I am completely blown away with the result. It’s amazing to see what a small community with a desire to make a difference can do.”

Moving forward “Give Me 5 for Kids” will be called “Give Me Change for Kids” and will be administered by the Lions Club of Orange and continue to be supported by Triple M Central West.
Southern Cross Austereo (Central West) General Manager, Luke Campbell said, “Give Me Change for Kids is the next stage of this wonderful local charity, and an exciting calendar of fundraising activities is already planned for the next 12 months. It will continue to be driven by Triple M, supported by many local businesses, and administered by the Lions Club of Orange.”
“I am confident that the community will continue to get behind this charity. We all want the best care for our kids when they’re sick,” Neil says.
