Anthony Redfern - People of O-Town

“I was born and grew up in West Wyalong until I was in year 8, then I moved to Orange. I finished my boilermaker trade and then I moved to Mackay, I got engaged, we moved to Perth - we followed the construction boom a little bit before we decided to move home to Orange and start our family.

I have managed many other company businesses in the past in many different roles, so I thought it was a good opportunity to have a go at it ourselves with my current business partner, the business is known as Forefront. I love what we do, it’s all I’ve ever done - I love being a boilermaker and the industry, it’s what I know.

I’m a pretty open book, there’s not a lot that people don’t know about me, I enjoy spending time with my family (my beautiful wife and three kids), water skiing in the summer and football in the winter and anything outdoors.

I’m captain coaching Cargo this year, it’s going to be a new challenge... it’s going to be fun. It’s not just the football, it’s the people that you meet and their passion for the game, but I do like when you’ve got to rely on other people and band together, with the same goal. I like when they are willing to put their body on the line for it, I love that - that’s why I do it, you get a heap of people like that and you’re always going to have fun and do well.

I’ve travelled overseas, though I’d like to see more of Australia, at the end of the year myself and the family are planning on travelling up North to spend a bit of time away, I’m looking forward to that.”
