Don’t miss the NSW Sheep Dog Championships in Molong

From March 19, the NSW Sheep Dog Championships will be held in Molong over five days. The event is the most prestigious trial in NSW, it brings hundreds of people to Molong, with over 250 novice dogs competing and 200 in the improver open category.

This year is particularly special for the Molong community as it’s the 90th year the competition has run. In celebration of that, the Molong Sheep Dog Workers have donated a sculpture to the community which you can find along the recreational sports ground entrance (Dr. Ross Memorial Recreation Ground), it shows a replica of ex-president, Norm McKenzie with a sheep dog working a mob of sheep.

Heather Woodhouse said, “Competitors travel from all states in Australia to be here, and all proceeds from the event will go back into the recreational/sporting ground.”

“It’s such a big drawcard for the community. Those who come and see it are so involved they want to come back to watch it every year.”

Take the family along for a drive and support the Molong community!
